The Parish Council are delighted to announce that we have purchased a piece of land at Wookey Hole adjacent to the allotments for the benefit of the residents throughout the parish. Over the next few months we will be planning and costing work required on the site to provide a valuable public amenity. Watch this space for further details!
The Parish Council is glad to support the ongoing funding of the memorial hall in Coxley and has given the hall a grant of £1000 towards it building costs.
The Parish Council is also glad to support the ongoing funding of Easton Village Hall and has also given them £1000 towards their building project. We wish both schemes the best of luck with their grant applications to Mendip District Council.
Following some complaints from residents about the sign outside of The Pound, Coxley obstructing view of cars coming from Burcott Lane onto the main road the Parish Council asked the pub if it could re-located these sign. Thank you to The Pound for your help in this matter.
The pavement along the main road from The Pound to Mill Lane, Coxley was another cause of concerns, but now that the land owners have cut back their hedge, the Parish Council has once again asked highways to cut back the verge to make the pavement wider.
New road sign will soon appear on the main road, warning of the cross roads at Stoppers Lane and Mill Lane, Coxley and to advise drivers that Mill Lane is not suitable for large vehicles.
The illegal use of the underpass continues at Dulcote, Police will be patrolling the area.
